The management of Gurdwara Sahibzada Ajit Singh honoured 15-year-old Shruti along with her parents with a Siropa (robe of honour) today.
Shruti was reportedly kidnapped from her house on September 24 and later recovered from Goa and sent to Nari Niketan on the orders of a court but was restored to her parents last week.
Shruti along with her parents visited the gurdwara and paid obeisance there. She thanked the people of the state specially of Faridkot for their support.
The gurdwara management also honoured members of the Joint Action Committee which fought for justice to Shruti and her parents. It also honoured senior journalists from Faridkot and Moga who gave "proper reporting" of the entire episode.
Earlier, an 'Akhand Path' bhog ceremony was performed on Gurpurab where a large number of people took 'langar' (community kitchen). Thousands of devotees took a dip the sacred tank of historic gurdwaras and partook 'langar' on the occasion.
