The Kerala Government has initiated steps to clear the backlog of the posts for disabled and the decision would benefit 1953 persons in the State, Rural Development and Culture K C Joseph today said.
Briefing newspersons on cabinet decisions here, Mr Joseph said those disabled who were posted on contract basis between August 16, 1999, and December 31, 2001 through employment exchange and have completed 179 days, will be given permanent posting after discussing with PSC.
He said 1953 persons would get the benefit. This decision was taken in the wake of the World Disabled Day, celebrated on December 3.
This Government has already initiated steps to clear the backlog of the posts for disabled and as a result 1121 vacancies have been reported to PSC for appropriate action, he said.
