The body of a two-year-old male leopard was found at Jhandimattha area under Karmajhiri range of Indira Priyadarshini Pench National Park in Senoi district.

"The animal's body -- which was found by the Forest Department's patrolling party yesterday -- bore several injury marks in its legs. Prima facie, it is suspected that the leopard was attacked by a tiger as the marks of a big cat's teeth was shown on its body," Park Director Alok Kumar said here today.

Mr Kumar said that the leopard's viscera was sent to forensic laboratory and the body was cremated today following post-mortem.

Top officials of Tourism Board from Bhopal are visiting the park for the past three days to explore tourism potential and study other related issues, the sources said.
