Noted Urdu writer Sharavan Kumar passes away
Noted Urdu litterateur and an eminent story writer Sharavan Kumar Verma passed away after a prolonged illness at Amritsar today.
He was 85.
He is survived by wife and two daughters Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today expressed profound grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Mr Verma.
In a condolence message, he recalled the outstanding literary services rendered by Mr Verma and the pivotal role played by him in fostering goodwill, harmony and peace in the Indian sub continent as he was widely admired for his literary skills both in India and Pakistan.
He said that in the death of Mr Verma a void has been created in the literary circle which was difficult to be filled in near future.
Mr Badal hoped that his masterly skills would ever act as a source of inspiration for the budding Urdu writers.
Sharing his heartfelt sympathies with the members of the bereaved family, Mr Badal prayed to the Almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and give courage to bear them this irreparable loss.
