A local court today convicted a man after finding him guilty for involving in dacoity case to undergo seven years rigorous imprisonment and slapped with a fine of Rs 10,000.
Sirmour District Attorney Mahesh Sen, in a statement here today, said Sirmour District and Session Judge had convicted Bunty s/o Rahul, r/o Roshan Colony, Purana Rajpura, District Patiala (Punjab) who was involved in a dacoity took place on November 25 this year at village Charrey under Shillai tehsil of this district.
The accused was prosecuted alongwith three other accused. He said Bunty was absconded during the trial but after his apprehension by police, he was prosecuted for having committed offence under section 457, 380, 342, 506, 34 of IPC.
The trial court convicted him to undergo for seven years rigorous imprisonment and to pay a fine of Rs 10,000 under section 395 IPC. The trial court also convicted the accused under section 458 and awarded a sentence for five years and fined Rs 5,000, under section 120B and 342 of IPC and to undergo two years rigorous imprisonment and fined Rs 5,000 and six months of simple imprisonment respectively.
