President returns after visit to Punjab

President Pranab Mukherjee this evening returned here after a day's visit to Ludhiana in Punjab during which he inaugurated an International Conference on "Sustainable Agriculture for Food and Livelihood Security".
During his visit, the President inaugurated the International Conference on "Sustainable Agriculture for Food and Livelihood Security", as part of the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of the Punjab Agricultural University.
The inaugural ceremony of the conference was also attended by Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and State Governor Shivraj Patil.
During his day-long visit, the President also laid the foundation stone of the Auditorium of Sat Paul Mittal School, Ludhiana.
This was Mr Mukherjee's first visit to Punjab after assuming office as the President.
