Jaipur mayor unhappy over functioning of Municipal Corporation
Expressing dissatisfaction over section of officers in Jaipur Municipal Corporation, responsible for checking unauthorised constructions and encroachments, Jaipur Mayor Jyoti Khandelwal reiterated her resolve for ensuring full transparency and corruption free functioning in JMC affairs.
Speaking at Meet the Press programme on the third anniversary of her term in the office, Ms Khandelwal today said she was serious in her ongoing prompt, transparent and corruption free functioning of the corporation officers.
The mayor said she was also serious in total curb on the unauthorised constructions/encroachments.
"I shall ensure all appropriate action against negligent and/or corrupt officers, if needed. I shall not hesitate to approach the court, even the Supreme Court, for the purpose," Ms Khandelwal said.
However, she expressed satisfaction over achievements/efforts during her present term in the corporation.
Ms Khandelwal had for long been engaged in a row with JMC officers, particularly the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), over functioning of the corporation, leveled publicly serious charges against them on several occasions and even made the state government to transfer many officers.
About half a dozen officers have so far been posted and removed from the post of CEO during her present term.
