The Paul Hamlyn International Research Centre for prosthetics and orthopedics was inaugurated at the Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayta Samiti's precincts here.
Jane Hamlyn, chairperson of this London based foundation that supported the project inaugurated the centre at a ceremony yesterday.
The state-of-the art center will enable Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayta Samiti(BMVSS)--the world's largest organization for the handicaps-, to do gait analysis.
Gait analysis is a systematic study of human locomotion.
It is used to assess plan and treat people who have disorders that affect their locomotion capability.
Inaugurating the center, Jane Hamlyn said the foundation has been supporting the BMVSS in its noble cause since 1991.
She said this is the silver jubilee year of the Paul Hamlyn Foundation and the Foundation is very happy to support the setting of the international center here.
