Police, who had booked a case against Tamil actress Bhuvanewari and an advocate friend of her at a drive in theatre on the city outskirts late last night, arrested the two and produced them before a judicial magistrate court seperatedly today.
According to police, the advocate, who had a quarrel with the driver of a car at the drive-in-theatre where he had gone to see a film along with Bhuvaneswari, was arrested and produced along with five others. They produced Ms Bhuvanewari before the court in the evening. She was also arrested in Ambur in Vellore district near here.
She was remanded to judicial custody.
It may be recalled that the advocate and the actress who got into quarrel with the driver of a car before theirs, summoned five others and attacked the public in the theatre when the quarrel developed into fist cuffs.
The two had gone to the open theatre to watch a new Tamil hit film 'Tupaki' starring popular actor Vijay.
On information, Police rushed to the spot restored order and booked cases against the advocates and the actress. The police also found the advocate in an inebriated condition.
