Anbazhagan hits out at CM

AIADMK Pondy Unit Secretary A Anbazhagan MLA today charged that the N R Congress government here has no intention to hold local body elections in the union territory.

Talking to mediapersons here he alleged the government was facing financial crisis because of mismanagement. An amount of Rs 900 crore was to be colleted as tax but the administration was not taking any steps in this regard.

Mr Anbazhagan said a commission had been constituted to go into the fincial issues and it had placed it's report in the legislative assembly. But no steps were taken yet to implement it's rcommednations.

He charged that the administration appointed 22 chairpersons for boards and corporations when even as it was reeling under severe financial crisis.

Mr Anbazhagan said the Chief Minister, all of a sudden, came out with the demand for statehood for Puducherry. It is a fact that the centre was acting unjustly towards non-congress governemnts in one way or the other. But Mr Rangasamy should show courage to resist the central government emulating Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.

He also charged that the CBI probe into the Yanam industrial violence and the corruption in the construction of flood protection wall were deing delayed. The opposition Congress party was taking steps to protect Yanam legislator Malladi Krishna Rao in the issue and union minister V Narayansamy was playing a part in this.
