Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) General Secretary G Niranjan today expressed his concern and agony over the indiscriminate action of demolishing the newly constructed residential buildings at T Anjaiah Nagar in Serilingam Pally and Siddiqui Nagar in Madhapur by GHMC officials yesterday.
In a letter, addressed to Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy copy of which was released to the media here, Mr Niranjan said that construction of ground floor plus two or more levels can not go with out the notice of concerned authorities as time for such constructions might have taken more than six months.
GHMC officials are equally responsible for such laxity and inactions.
The residents should have been given suffiicient warning before their taking such unscrupulus actions.
Further, it is regretted that most of the lower middle class residents who have spent their hard earned life savings for this purpose can not recoup themselves from this financial loss and mental agony and suffering.
The Congress leader requested the Chief Minister to get the entire matter investigated as to how the officials after receiving the illegal gratification became silent and allowed the progress of constructions.
He requested the Chief Minister to punish the guilty and erring officials for their derelictions of duty.
