BSE Sensex rises on IT, airlines
The BSE Sensex rose 0.16 percent on Monday, as weakness in the rupee drove shares in India's flagship IT sector higher.
The 30-share benchmark index ended 30.44 points higher at 18,537.01 with 18 of its components closing in the green.
The broader 50-share National Stock Exchange (NSE) Nifty index ended 0.17 percent or 9.30 points higher at 5,635.90 on Monday.
Caution still prevailed in the markets as investors tracked uncertainty in Greece and a Parliament logjam at home over economic reforms.
Meanwhile in the New Delhi bullion market, gold rose by Rs 100 to Rs 32,950 per 10 grams while silver gained by Rs 200 to Rs 63,200 per kg.
