Family, marriage breakdowns causing Britain's problems
A majority of Britons believe that their country's social problems are being caused due to a breakdown in family values and the decline in marriage.
Around 55 percent of those questioned said their local community was plagued by broken families and crime, the Daily Express reported.
Sixty percent said that over the past few decades, marriage has become less important and that is a cause of the problems.
A whopping majority -- 89 percent -- said better parenting and stronger families were the keys to mending the broken society.
The survey conducted by YouGov, an international internet-based market research firm, was commissioned for think-tank the Centre for Social Justice.
