IUML men attack SDPI actvists, IUML man held, 2 escape

Two SDPI activists suffered stab injuries in an alleged attack by IUML men at Puthiyangadi and Muttam under Pazhayanagadi Police Limits today morning, police said, A Fazil (25), an SDPI local leader of Puthiyangadi, suffered serious stab injuries all over the body in an alleged attack by a four-member IUML gang with swords and iron rods at 0815 hrs at Puthiyangadi, police said.

He was admitted at a private hospital at Kozhikode after the first aid at Pariyaram Medical College Hospital here.

Another SDPI/Campus Front of India activist Musthafa (15) of Muttam suffered injuries in an alleged attack by a 10-member gang of IUML activists using sticks, at Muttam.

He was admitted to district hospital here. Police arrested IUML activist Shamsudhin (22) of Muttam and seized weapons from him in the wee hours by a police patrol while his two friends escaped .

A large number of police personnel led by Thaliparamab ASP Sreeinvas were camping in the area, police said.
