Chris Brown cancels Guyana gig after protests over RiRi attack
Chris Brown has cancelled a concert in Guyana, after locals protested over his 2009 beating of then-girlfriend Rihanna, event organizers have revealed.
The 23-year-old rapper drew the ire of women's rights groups and opposition lawmakers who said that the 'Kiss Kiss' hit-maker was not welcome in Guyana, the Daily Mail reported.
Concert promoter Hits and Jams Entertainment said on Thursday that Brown had backed out of the December 26 concert, citing discomfort with the protests, the paper reported.
In 2009, Brown had hit, choked and bit the 24-year-old singer during an argument in Los Angeles. He later pled guilty to the assault.
