Loud eaters 'biggest frustration at work'

People who eat noisily at work are the biggest turn-off for their colleagues, a new survey has revealed.

The research conducted by Ainsley Harriott Cup Soup has found that as many as 74 percent of people are too busy to leave their office for the traditional hour lunch break.

This seems to be having a wrong impact on the working environment - with food causing most of the office frustrations.

It tops messiness, lateness and people complaining about feeling ill.

The research found that 57 percent of 2,500 Brits, said noisy eaters were the most annoying of their office-workers, the Daily Mail reported.

A further 26 percent said they couldn't stand smelly food while they were trying to work.

"It's interesting that food-related grievances come out on top in the office," David Cherrie, marketing controller, Ainsley Harriott Cup Soup, said.

"Furthermore, we're all too cowardly to confront each other, meaning our working relationships could be suffering over what are basically poor table manners," he said.

Top 10 office gripes are:

Noisy eating
Messy colleagues
Not washing up
Smelly food
Lateness
Not listening
Colleagues talking over you
Clicking pens
Personal phone calls
Complaining of illness
