Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Additional Director General Vivek Dubey today said the proposal for the regularisation of additional training Centre at Sarai Khas near here is under active consideration.
Talking to mediapersons after participating in the passing out parade of 416 recruits inducted in the Force at CRPF's group Centre, Mr Dubey said if more youths are recruits, the training centre would likely to continue to train recruits.
However, he ruled out the possibility of closing the additional training centre here.
He said the CRPF directorate had sought 200 acres of land from the state government for setting up another CRPF camp in Punjab. The land is yet to be identified. He said 350 acres of land near Laddowal in Ludhiana along Dhussi Bund was also being considered for the purpose. He said the directorate was also planning to set up a field range to boost the firing skill of the force.
Mr Dubey said the recruitment of new cadets in the CRPF was a continuous process. More battalions are raised as per requirement of the Force to maintain internal security system across the country.
Referring to the combating operations to curb militancy and naxalism, he said the force was to assist the local police in maintaining law and order. He said the militancy and the naxalism are the part of international network which needed to be curbed in full potential.
He said the force had initiated General Welfare Schemes for the Jawans and families of the CRPF men to make them feel at home in times of need.
