Odisha govt to ammend Cinema Regulation Rules

The Odisha government today decided to amend the Odisha Cinema Regulation Rule 1964.

The state Cabinet under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik took the decision to amend the Odisha Cinema Regulation Rule 1964.

Briefing newsperons after the meeting, Chief Secretary B K Patnaik said according to the proposed Amendment, the cinema hall owners are required to apply to the district magistrate three days before hiking the price of cinema tickets in place of earlier 15 days.

They would have to inform the Tax Collector Authority three days before also.

In another decision, the government decided to upgrade the cadre of Assistant Engineers in the Odisha Engineering service at the entry level from Class-II to Class-I.

The Engineers joining the Odisha Engineering Service will be called Assistant Executive Engineer.

The posts of Assistant Engineers would be filled up by the Diploma holders.

After ten years of service the Diploma holders would be eligible for the next post, depending on the availability of posts.

The cabinet also decided to increase the strength of the Odisha Financial Service from 653 to 657 and approved the excess expenditure amounting to Rs 9716 crore incurred from 1996-97 to 2010.

The government also decided that the state forest department would provide two quintal of sandalwood to the Sri Jaganath Mandir Trust every year for performance of its daily rituals.
