Action plan to make ' Hyderabad city ' pollution free
Andhra Pradesh government is contemplating to make a special action plan for making the Hyderabad as a ' pollution free city'.
During the reviewing meeting conducted on the functioning and issues of the state Pollution Control Board (PCB)with Ministers and top officials at Secretary here today, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy instructed the officials to take necessary steps to control pollution in the state capital and also in other districts of the state, State Municipal administration Minister Mr Maheedar Reddy told reporters here.
The Chief Minister also directed the officials to take necessary action against the industries those who releasing huge pollution in air, he said.
A co-ordination committee with the GHMC and PCB officials would be establied to monitor the pollution and to ensure that the industries anti-pollution equipment functioned properly, the Minister added.
In the meeting, the Chief Minister gave a speciffic directions to the officials for better management of Municipal solid Waste and Sewage, Plastic Wastes, bio-meical Wastes and Hazardious wastes.
He said that adequate staff would be recruited in the PCB and directed the officials that after giving one more notice, fresh tenders should be called for projects to treat municipal solid wastes. He also stressed the need to protect the lakes in the GHMC areas particularly the Hussainsagar lake in the state capital.
Minister for Environment and Forests Satrucherla vijayarama Raju, Minister for Municipal Administration and other officials from industries, PCB and Grater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) were attended the meeting.
