BSE Sensex gains positive sentiment
The BSE Sensex rose 0.31 percent on Thursday, as financial scrips extended a rally on reform expectations and IT scrips also gained on weaker rupee.
The 30-share benchmark index ended 56.96 points higher at 18,517.34 with 19 of its components closing in the green.
The broader 50-share National Stock Exchange (NSE) Nifty index ended 0.23 percent or 12.95 points higher at 5,627.75 on Thursday.
The government's pro-reform stance on the first day of a stormy Winter session of the parliament boosted investor sentiments.
Meanwhile in the bullion market, gold rose by Rs 110 per 10 grams to close at Rs 31,910 while silver shot up by Rs 330 per kg to end at Rs 62,670.
