With the objectives of fulfilling the need for protecting consumer rights and meeting the demand for standardisation of Gold and providing the best to consumers with assurance of quality, MMTC Limited Regional Office Goa hosted the sixth edition of its Festival of Gold-cum Jewellery.exhibition-cum sale in the capital city from November 22 to 27.
The MMTC, Director of Finance Mr M G Gupta, speaking to media persons after inaugurating the Jewellery exhibition at the hands of state deputy chief minister Francis D' Souza, said 2012-13 is the Golden Jubilee year of MMTC Limited as the company completes 50 years since its inception in 1963.
MMTC, as a brand, aims to strike a balance between tradition and modernity, and now in its 50th year, continues to aim at surpassing its earliest best.
Mr Gupta said with handpicked collections in plan gold and studded jewellery from over nine states of India, including Delhi, Maharashtra, Bengal, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karantaka,Rajasthan and Goa, the festival of Gold is one- of- its-kind exhibition providing the customers an opportunity to purchase hallmarked jewellery from various parts of India and value-added bullion products under a single roof.
MMTC has showcaused unique items such as diamond and ruby studded solitaire neckpieces from Maharashtra and 20th century Mugal Era Jewellery from Andhra Pradesh at its festival of gold 2012.
MMTC is one of the nodal agencies nominated by the government of India for importing gold, silver and platinum for supply to exporters and domestic cutomers under the outright sale, loan and replenishment schemes. It also contributes significantly to India's International trade by opening export opportunity across the globe for Indian products.
"We have 13 offices in India and 2 overseas in Singapore and South Africa", Mr Gupta added.
