Authorities have stepped up security at the international Indo-Nepal border to check infiltration after the execution of death penalty to 26/11 Mumbai terror strike convict Mohammad Ajmal Amir Kasab yesterday, Sashastra Seema Bal sources said.
A high alert has been sounded at the international border to avoid any infiltration of terrorists after Kasab's hanging.
Metal detectors, CCTV cameras and scanners have been installed to keep a watch on people and check their belongings.
An area of 84 kms from the border have been sounded as 'No man's zone'.
Besides the SSB, the Uttar Pradesh police have been asked to remain active and be alert in areas nearing the border, Inspector General of Police (Gorakhpur zone) B B Sharma said.
