Yash Chopra's 'Jab Tak hai Jaan' screened at Doha Tribeca Filmfest
After the overwhelming box office response for the Shahrukh Khan, Katrina Kaif-starrer 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' across the World, the late filmmaker Yash Chopra's last directorial venture continues to charm audiences abroad.
Yash Chopra's last labour of love, which hit cinema halls across the World on Diwali on November 13, has charmed audience where it was screened on November 30 as a part of the Doha Tribeca film festival (DTFF), officials at Yashraj Films said.
Screened to a housefull of Indian Expats and the local Qatari community, the event also saw the Vice Chair for DTFF, Issa Al Mohannadi introducing a short 11-minute AV, paying a tribute to illustrious Yash Chopra.
Handing over the award to Vice President Intl. Operations, YRF Avtar Panesar, Mr Mohannadi said,"Mr Chopra's contribution was not to just Indian Cinema but to Cinema anywhere in the world, and DTFF pays homage to a man that defined and redefined love countless times in a career spanning over half a century." The screening started with a personal message by Shahrukh Khan.
"Moist eyes on the end credit sequence coupled with a standing ovation summed up their feelings for 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan', reinforcing the belief that Love really does make the world go around!," YRF officials said.
According to Yashraj Films, 'Jab Tak hai Jaan', which also features Anushka Sharma, has earned Rs 122 crore during the opening weekend of its release.
