Preparations begin for Legislature session in Belgaum
Preparations have begun for Karnataka legislature session at the newly constructed Suvarna Vidhana Soudha in the city from December 5 to 12.
It was recently inaugurated by President Pranab Mukherrjee at Halaga Bastwad on the outskirts of the city.
Agriculture and District in charge minister Umesh Katti today visited the imposing building and directed the officials to make elaborate arrangements for facilitating all those coming to Belgaum for participating in the session.
Mr Katti discussing with officials in a review meeting, said accommodation, food, vehicles and conveyance facilities would be provided for all.
If the hotels and other accommodation in the city proves insufficient, arrangements would be made in Hubli-Dharwad twin cities about 70 km from here, he said.
The government has already booked most of the hotel rooms available in the city and works on refurbishing the city and asphalting of roads have begun.
Printing press owners are having a good time as they have received huge orders for posters, flex boards, cut outs and other material, sources said.
