Congress to contest on all 60 Meghalaya seats
The ruling Congress party in Meghalaya Wednesday said it would contest on all 60 seats in the state assembly polls next year.
Out of the 60 assembly seats, candidates for 46 seats have been approved, while the remaining 14 seats would be further screened in New Delhi, Chief Minister Mukul Sangma told reporters.
He said names of the candidates were finalised after discussions with party workers and All India Congress Coordination Committee (AICC) observers.
"These names would be sent to AICC for scrutiny and then we would have the final list," Sangma said.
"There are a substantial number of women candidates in the list," Shandil said.
