The BJP in Gujarat today announced the formation of an 86-member campaign committee for the state assembly elections to be held in two phases in December.
According to Jagdish Bhavsar, spokesperson of BJP, party's national vice president Purushottam Rupala has been appointed as head of the committee which will oversee the task of election campaigning of the party in the state.
The members of the committee include state finance minister Vaju Vala, revenue minister Anandi Patel, former minister of state for home Amit Shah, education minister Ramanlal Vora and senior party leaders Rajendrasinh Rana, Kaushik Patel, I K Jadeja and Surendra Patel.
The BJP is expected to come out shortly with its first list of candidates for the first phase of polling on December 13 which will cover 87 constituencies.
