A 20-year-old white female tiger, named 'Bhanupriya', died today at the Siddharth Garden and Zoo of the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) due to the old age, sources in Zoo said.
Bhanupriya was brought here when she was three-year-old in 1995 from Nandankanan Zoo of Odisha, along with a male tiger 'Pramod', the sources said.
Later, she gave birth to two male and as many female tiger cubs. Of them, one of the pair was sent to the Sanjay Gandhi National Park in Mumbai.
She was unwell due to old age since November 9 this year, hence, was on drip and her end came at 0300 hours, they said.
Her carcass was sent for post-mortem to the veterinary hospital and later cremated at Siddharth garden.
