Central experts inspects flood damaged crop

Quality Control Team deployed by the Central Government today toured the flood affected areas and took samples of paddy from the fields for analysis and estimating the losses for submitting a report.

The team led by Dr K Satyaprasad Assistant Regional Director Central Consumers' Affairs, Food and Civil Supplies, Quality Control Cell, conducted the field studies in Cheediga in Kakinada Rural Mandal, Ramesweram and A.P.Thrayam in Pedapudi Mandal, Vetlapalem in Samalkot Mandal and collected the damaged paddy samples.

At a meeting held at AP Thrayam Village Panchayat Office, the committee interacted with the farmers and assured them that they would analyse the extent of loss to the crop for recommending to government on the quantum of compensation to be made.

Joint Director of Agriculture D Pramila, who accompanied them, advised the farmers to furnish the details of their land along with survey number and bank account numbers to the enumerators to ensure that justice was done to them in payment of compensation for the crop losses.
