The Puducherry administration would take steps to provide adequate assistance to the people who were left out while disbursing Thane Cyclone, Chief Minster N Rangasamy said here today.
Speaking at the World Fisheries day celebration,the Chief Minister said four villages were left out while providing Thane Cyclone relief and presently the survey in the villages was on and adequate assistance would be provided in a week's time.
Stressing on the need to protect fisheries welath,Mr Rangasamy said as many as 21,500 fishermen families were there in Puducherry.
Hence,their interest need to be protected, he added.
Mr Rangasamy said the government could not construct houses for the tsunami affected in some areas and steps are being taken to construct houses for them in some alternaive places.
