630 bags of rice, meant for PDS seized

Vigilance officials today seized 630 bags of rice, worth more than Rs 6 lakh, while being transported illegally and arrested two people in this connection.
Vigilance Superintendent of Police Ammi Reddy said that on a tip-off, the vigilance officials intercepted two lorries at Mangaligiri-Tenali Cross, at Mangalagiri, in the district. The rice was being transported from Martur in Prakasham district to Mangapet in East Godavari.
A case was registered and investigation is on, he said.
