The Rajya Sabha Select Committee has adopted the draft report on the Lokpal and Lokayukta Bill, 2011, that will be tabled during the upcoming Winter Session of the Parliament.
The committee that adopted the draft report on Monday made several suggestions like bringing the Prime Minister under the purview of the Lokpal and setting up the Lokayuktas within a year.
Th report might be tabled during the first week of the Winter Session of the Parliament.
The government will bring a bill during the session on the basis of the draft report.
The draft that was cleared on Monday said: "The power of superintendence and direction of CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) in relation to Lokpal referred cases must vest in Lokpal."
The Lokpal Bill was passed by the Lok Sabha during the Winter Session of the Parliament last year.
It got stuck in the Rajya Sabha and was later referred to the Upper House select committee during the Budget Session this year in order to break the parliamentary logjam over the matter.
