Delhi building fire still on, one dead
One person died, while two others were rescued when a major fire broke out at Himalaya House on Kasturba Gandhi Marg in Central Delhi this morning.
According to television reports, one dead body was found on the seventh floor of the building.
Thirty eight fire engines are still battling to douse the fire that started around 6 a.m. Initially, 21 fire engines were rushed to the building after the fire department received a call this morning at 6.20 a.m.
Early visuals from the spot showed thick smoke coming out of the third and fourth floors of the building even as firefighters are trying to douse it
An eyewitness, Neelam, said the fire broke out at the fourth floor and all the officers have reached the spot.
"We got to know about the fire in the morning and we saw it on the television. We also called at the office and everyone has come. All our officers have come. The caretaker and the guards were there," said Neelam.
