Karnataka CM Jagdish Shettar expresses grief over Bal Thackeray's death
Karnataka Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar today expressed profound grief at the death of Siv Sena Supremo Bal Thackeray in Mumbai today.
In a message, the Chief Minister said Thackeray was known for his 'upright patriotic views' and was always 'involved in pro-country activities'.
'Shiv Sena started by Mr Thackeray in 1966 has given a new dimension for the comprehensive development of Maharashtra in general and Mumbai in particular. The splendid victory of Shiv Sena in 2012 Mumbai civic polls is the indicator of the success of Mr Thackeray,' Mr Shettar said.
He said in Thackeray's death the nation had lost a tall leader and a master writer.
'May his soul rest in peace and may God provide strength for the bereaved family to bear this loss,' the Chief Minister said in his condolence message here today.
