Kerala Chief minister Oommen Chandy today said final decision of on execution of the Kochi Metro by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) would be taken by the Board of Directors at a meeting of DMRC on November 27 in New Delhi.
Talking to newspersons at Kannur guest house here today, He said before this meeting Electricity and transport minister Aryadan Muhammed will have a personnel interfere with the Union ministers from Kerala, A K Antony, Vayalar Ravi and K V Thomas about this project.
He said Kochi Metro was mooted by the UDF government in 2005 and an office was setup by DMRC in Kochi.The foundation stone was also laid last year.
The Chief minister said he had made a demand to Union Minister Kamalnath and Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit to reverse the decision taken by the DMRC against the Kochi metro.
He said only to a question, the controversies against the Kochi Metro were the creation of some media and the government never thought of dropping DMRC from this project.
