Revenue staff to be honoured in Kerala

Kerala Revenue minister Adoor Prakash today said the government would observe February 24 as 'Revenue Day' from next year.

Talking to newsmen, after the pre-revenue adalat meeting at the collectorate here, Mr Prakash said the revenue staff were not getting recognition like the police department for their services.

From February next, they would also be honoured by the state government on the basis of their performance.

The minister also assured that all landless families would get at least three cents of land by the year 2015.

According to the 2012, August records, 2,33,232 families in the state were landless.

He said one lakh families would get land next year.

The state government would be acquiring excess land.
