The Congress, heading the United Democratic Front (UDF) government in Kerala, took serious view of the remarks by veteran party leader and Defence Minister A K Antony that it lacked initiative to execute Central projects in the state.
Talking to reporters here Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee President Ramesh Chennithala said the party took the remarks made at a function in Thiruvanthapuram on November 14 seriously and would rectify if any shortcoming was found in its functioning.
Flaying his own party-led government, Mr Antony said it failed to take up projects for Central investment in the Defence sector since it assumed office one-and-a-half years ago, 'Antony is our top most leader. We will inculcate his advise in toto,' Mr Chennithala said.
He also hailed former Chief Minister and CPI (M) veteran V S Achuthanandan and his Industry Minister Elamaram Kareem for extending unconditional support for the defence projects in the state raising mnay eye-brows.
