The Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has taken a defiant stand after the gas tanker tragedy at Chala in Kannur District, Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said today.
Briefing on Cabinet decisions here, he said the State has so far taken a definitive plan for relief measures as far as the package for property loss is concerned.
"The government had made an appeal to IOC for meeting the compensation to persons and families involved in the incident. But, they have only responded so far by giving just 1 crore," he added.
"It has been more than three months since the tragic event took place and IOC has not given any assistance other than this one crore," he said.
The government would take stern action, if IOC continues with their defiant stand on this issue, he clarified.
