S. Australia Premier to launch Ashok Khurana University of Adelaide scholarship
The Premier of South Australia, Jay Weatherill, will launch the Ashok Khurana University of Adelaide Scholarship program for Outstanding Indian teachers on November 19.
The event will take place in the Murray Harris Room of the Australian High Commission in New Delhi at 5.30 p.m.
Weatherill will also address the gathering during the event.
Professor Pascale Quester, Deputy Vice Chancellor and Vice President (Academic), University of Adelaide, and Professor Ashok Khurana will also speak.
Professor Ashok Khurana, a former University of Adelaide staff member, generously established the scholarship so that he could give back to the Indian education system from which he benefitted.
Khurana's life was changed by a scholarship. As a young man in India he received a scholarship to study overseas, leading him to spend the last 39 years of his life in Australia.
