Aimed at deliberating in detail various issues, including backwardness, the Sunni Management Association in Kerala will hold a minorities' meet in this city of Kerala on November 17.
Talking to reporters here, Samastha Kerala Jem-Iyyathul Ulama Treasurer Syed Ali Bafaqi Thangal and SMA General Secretary K K Ahammedkutty Musaliyar said the meet was convened to create awareness about the people and bringing issues to the notice of the Centre and the State government.
He said though there were adequate laws in the country to look after the interests of the minorities, they were not getting its benefit due to government apathy.
Rural Development and Minority Welfare Minister Manjalamkuzhi Ali will inaugurate the meet while Minority Welfare Department Director P Nasar will introduce the topic.
Sunni Jem-Iyyathul Ulma All India General Secretary Kanthapuram A P Aboobacker Musaliar will deliver the keynote address, they added.
