Jharkhand turns 12: CM announce skill enhnacement plan; laptops to 10th pass
Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda today announced that his government will initiate steps to enhance the skill of 25 lakh youth of the state during the five-year plan so that they are provided enough job opportunities.
Addressing a huge gathering at the Birsa Munda Football Stadium in the capital to mark 12 years of state formation since it was carved out from Bihar in 2000, Mr Munda said, " 2013 will be celebrated as the year for youth and skill dvelopment...during the five year plan we pledge to enhance the skill of 25 lakh youth of the state whether they are men or women, boy or girl or students. " Adding further Mr Munda said if right opportunities are provided to the youth, it will help them to showcase their talent which in return will help us to achieve desired results in all other spheres.
The Chief Minister said that last year was celebrated as Bitiya Bachao and Balika Varsh which has yielded us rich dividends.
" The steps formulated for the girl child and for women have helped us to reduce child mortality rate, improving sex ratio, improvement in girl education and ensured security of the family, " Mr Munda said adding people have also benefited from successful implementation of Ladli Laxmi Yojana across the state.
" We are trying our best to run the government as per people's aspirations and are formulating policies and schemes for their benefit, " he said.
Apart from youth and women we are also in talks with the Government of India to distribute laptops/tablets among matric (Class 10th) pass students so that they are able to face challenges posed by the 21st century.
" We are planning to connect every department with IT so that projects and works are completed in stipulated time frame and the reach of IT is expanded to every house hold which in turn will remove the role of middlemen, " he asserted.
" Moving a step further we are planning to use Aadhar for implementation of all government sponsored welfare schemes and programmes, " he said.
Addressing the function Governor Syed Ahmed stressed on the need to carry out introspection of schemes and programmes that have been implemented in the state.
" We have achieved success in different sectors during the past 12 years however we need to achieve more in areas where we are lagging behind, " he said adding a coordinated effort is required which will ensure that benefit reaches to every person in the state.
A vibrant show for culture enthusiasts was put on which saw performances by Prince Dance Group from Odisha - of India's Got Talent fame along with TV personalities Sanjeeda Sheikh and Amir Ali perform ing on hit bollywood numbers. Local Paika dancers will also raise a toast to the vibrant culture of State. Kasturba Gandhi School students will also take part.
Flowers were showered on the audience as young beneficiaries of various welfare schemes, along with artisans of Jharcraft, present a parade with the band of Jharkhand Armed Police.
Singer KK and actress-cum-commentator Mandira Bedi too participated in the function.
Earlier in the day dignitaries paid rich tribute to Bhagwan Birsa Munda at his mausoleum near Kokar Market.
Among those who were present during the function included State Coordination Committee chairman Shibu Soren, Deputy CMs Sudesh Mahto and Hemant Soren and Speaker CP Singh.
