Egmont UK has appointed Penguin India as their exclusive distributor in a move which will see it strengthen its position in the world's largest English language book market.
Egmont is the UK's leading specialist children's publisher for babies to teens, inspiring children to read through more than 30 million award-winning books, magazines, ebooks and apps each year.
Penguin Books India is the largest English language trade publisher in the subcontinent.
Gillian Laskier, Group Sales Director, Egmont UK, said: "Penguin has had an unparalleled position in the Indian market for the last 25 years, with a distribution network which is second to none. We are delighted to add our portfolio including Tintin, Blyton and Mr. Men to the range of children's titles they bring to the market in India."
Andrew Phillips, CEO and President, Penguin India, said: "The strength of Egmont's famous brands together with the quality of our sales and marketing and broad distribution reach, will see Penguin India become the destination for the very best of children's publishing in India.
"We are all immensely excited to be working with Egmont and being able to bring a bigger catalogue of their great titles to the Indian market."
The new arrangement will begin in January 2013.
