The third All India Women's Conference against alarmingly increasing crimes against women and children, liquor menace and sky rocketing price rise, will be held here from January 29, 2013.
The three-day Conference, organised by All India Mahila Samskarika Sanghatana (AIMSS), is coming of the massive struggles by women all over the country against various issues, its General Secretary Dr H G Jayalakshmi told a press conference here today.
The condition of vast multitude of women in post-independent India is going from bad to worse, she said.
Gender ratio of girl children with respect to male children is falling sharply, dowry harassment and killing are increasing alarmingly, sexual assaults, rapes, harassment are exploding everywhere including at workplaces, domestic violence, flesh trade, honour killings go on unabted, she added. National Crimes Record Bureau has recorded 2,61,474 cases of crimes on women for the year 2011, she added.
