The tie-ups between international giants in automobile sectors and the Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in Kerala shows our acceptance in the global market, State Labour Minister Shibu Baby John said here today.
Announcing the result of the All India Trade Test, the minister said 'technical collaboration with multi-nationals such as Toyota, Volkswagen, Maruti Suzuki and Tata Motors stand testimony to our achievements.' Out of 24,958 trainees attended the Test in 68 trades, 15,087 have been qualified from Kerala, he said, adding, the affiliation of ITIs which showed poor passing percentage would be cancelled after examining the performance of previous years.
Stating that the State has been a major provider of skilled man power to the world, he said its high gender equity and high quality of life in the State is a perfect setting for skill development initiatives.
The new initiatives like a Construction Academy of International standards and a Multi Skill Development Centre in Kerala under Kerala Academy for skills Excellence to create 50,000 skilled personel every eyar is a paradigm shift in the skill development initiatives of Kerala.
