Clarke says Oz bowlers would look to keep 'big scoring' Smith in check
Australia captain Michael Clarke has said his South African counterpart Graeme Smith is a huge player for the Proteas team, and his bowlers would look to stop him from scoring runs in the remaining Test series.
In Brisbane, Clarke's new-era side twice dismissed Smith cheaply and fired-up young quick James Pattinson gave the 103-Test veteran a spray after having him caught at gully yesterday.
The verbal fireworks started when Smith pulled away from a delivery as a bird flew across the pitch and Pattinson gave him both barrels, and a calm Clarke continued the pressure after the match.
"It's nice he made no runs in this Test match, he is a huge player for them," News.com.au quoted Clarke, as saying.
"When South Africa has success, he generally plays a big part. The least amount of runs we can give Graeme throughout the whole series, the better chance we have of success," he added.
