The Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM)), which withdrew support to the Congress Government in the state and also the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) at the Centre over the temple row two-days back, today decided to campaign against the Congress in the next general elections in the state.
Talking to reporters after discussing with the United Muslim Forum (UMF) at party's headquarters Darulsalaam here, AIMIM President and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi announced that the party would campaign against the ruling Congress along with UMF across the state and also at the Centre to expose the 'misdeeds' of the Congress government.
He also said the party along with the forum would approach the Andhra Pradesh State Human Rights Commission (APSHRC) over the present situation at the historic monument 'Charminar' and also on the restrictions over business establishments in old city.
It was everyone's responsibility to protect the historical monument as all sections of the people across the country and also from abroad, visit the old city to see the monument alone, he said.
Mr Owaisi also declared that the party along with UMF would launch statewide tour to create awareness among the public over the monument and also over the misdeeds of the ruling Congress government.
The party would announce the future course of the action after the 'Muharram' festival, he added.
Later, the MIM along with UMF submitted a memorandum to the City Police commissioner Anurag Sharma, expressing displeasure over the restrictions of business establishment in old city.
