Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatan (SSS) workers today staged demonstrations in front of residences of chairmen of three Sugar factories at Jaysingpur, demanding Rs 3,000 per tonne sugarcane as first instalment and protested against arrest of their leader Raju Shetty.
About 1,000 SSS workers, travelling in motorcycles and Cars, gathered initially at residence of Appasaheb alias S R Patil, Chairman of Shree Datta Cooperative Sugar Factory, Shirol. from there, they proceeded to resdence of Rajendra Patil-Yadravkar, Chairman of Sharad Cooperative Sugar Factory in Jaysingpur Town and finally they arrived in 18th Lane, residence of Madhavrao Ghatge, Chairman of Gurdatta Private Sugar Factory.
They raised slogans against the respective chairmen, demanding rate of Rs 3,000 per tonne sugarcane.
They said governent should release their leader Raju Shetty.
The three Chairmen were not present in their respective residents. Heavy police security was deployed at the three places.
