Swarmy slams Karunanidhi for spoiling Indo-Lanka ties
Janata Party leader Subramanian Swamy has warned Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) chief M Karunanidhi that he would be arrested under the National Security Act for trying to spoil India's relations with Sri Lanka.
He stressed that it was now time for the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to put a decisive end to the "sinister Sri Lanka-baiting" by the Dravidian Movement, the Asian Tribune reported Monday.
"The Prime Minister should also keep persuading after sufficient goodwill is created, the Sri Lankan President, to ensure devolution of powers in it Constitution, for the linguist minority Tamils to carry on regional development in their areas and feel empowered." he said.
Earlier, Karunanidhi urged Prime Minister Singh to take steps in the United Nations to force the Government of Sri Lanka to hold a Referendum or Plebiscite in Sri Lanka, to decide whether Tamils of that country want self-determination and Tamil Eelam.
The former Law Minister of India, Swarmy has categorically stated that, to put an end, the Prime Minister must decorate President Rajapakshe with "Bharat Ratna" award for his courageous elimination of the terrorist organization the LTTE, and its murderous leader V.Prabhakaran.
