The Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM)) today claimed that it would ensure the collapse of Kiran Kumar Reddy Government for which the party legislators would tour the entire state to expose the 'misdeeds' of the Congress government.
Addressing a crowded press conference at party's headquarters Darulsalaam here, AIMIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi announced that the MIM was withdrawing support to the Congress government in the State and also the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) at the Centre.
'We have already faxed the letter to the President of India and sought time for appointment,' he said. The MIM MLAs would also meet Governor ESL Narasimhan to convey party's decision of withdrawing support to the Kiran Kumar Reddy government. 'We are compelled and forced to take this decision due to the communal behaviour of Kiran Kumar Reddy government and also the indecisiveness and dilly-dalying attitude of the Centre,' Mr Owaisi said.
He alleged that Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy has ensured that BJP and Sangh Parivar get strengthened in Hyderabad and surrounding areas. However, he also slammed the government for not withdrawing the false cases booked against Muslim youth in Mecca Masjid blast case. Thanking UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi for giving the MIM an opportunity to be a part of UPA, he said he took the decision to pull out of the UPA 'with a heavy heart'.
'Since the Kiran Kumar Reddy government is not a secular government anymore, it makes no sense for us to sail with the UPA,' he said.
