Andhra Pradesh government has announced an increased in the Dearness Allowance (DA) by 5.99 per cent with effect from July 1 as a Diwali Gift for its about 12 lakh employees.
An official release issued here tonight said Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has approved the DA increase here this evening.
The increase of DA comes to Rs 1,486 crore per annum.
As of now, the existing DA is 41.94 per cent and with this increase it comes to 47.93 per cent.
As per the rules, this facility will be extended to the pensioners also, the release said.
