Jammu Kashmir Governor, CM greet people on Diwali
Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in a message today greeted the people of the state on the eve of festivals of lights 'Diwali'.
Mr Vohra has extended greetings to the people and prayed for their well-being and prosperity.
In a message, the Governor observed that this festival symbolises the triumph of truth and righteousness over falsehood and of good over evil, highlighting the high values and ethos of the country's great civilisation.
Meanwhile, Mr Abdullah also extended felicitation to people on Diwali wishing them well being and prosperity.
The Chief Minister referred to the tradition and heritage of Jammu and Kashmir in celebrating festivals and holy occasions in an atmosphere of amity and brotherhood.
He also expressed hope that this trait of the state would be further strengthened.
"The sharing of happiness and joy adds colour to the celebrations of happy occasions."
